Law enforcement report
¢ Ottawa Police on Sunday arrested a 17-year-old boy for aggravated battery after he shot an 11-year-old boy in the back of the head with a BB gun around 2:45 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Mulberry. Police did not release his name.
¢ Lawrence Police on Saturday arrested an 18-year-old Lawrence man, Stephen R. Patterson, for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to sell a controlled substance. He was released on $4,500 bond.
¢ A 23-year-old Lawrence woman told police an acquaintance raped her between roughly 12:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Saturday at her home in the northern half of the city. Police were still investigating Monday.
¢ Police responded around 8 p.m. Sunday to a report of a fight involving a tire iron and a knife at the KOA campground, 1473 Highway 40. A 55-year-old Lawrence man told police a 40-year-old Lawrence man threatened him with a knife. The 40-year-old told police the 55-year-old threatened him with a tire iron.
Both men list the KOA as their address. A manager asked the 40-year-old to leave the property, but neither was arrested.
Burglaries and thefts reported
¢ Sometime between June 15 and Aug. 30, someone stole more than $2,000 worth of tools and antiques, including an arrowhead collection and coins, from an outbuilding in the 1500 section of East 1850 Road in Eudora. Anyone with information is asked to call the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 841-0007.
Injury accidents
¢ A 22-year-old Olathe man, Christopher M. Dilley, went to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by ambulance after the 1999 Pontiac Grand Am he was driving struck a parked truck around 2:45 a.m. Saturday near North Second Street and Mount Hope Court. Police believe alcohol contributed to the wreck.
¢ A 26-year-old woman, Kimberly N. Lindsey, went to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by ambulance Saturday afternoon after a wreck near 23rd Street and Haskell Avenue.
She was riding without a seat belt in an Isuzu Amigo that was going westbound in a turn lane at 4:37 p.m. when it collided with a Chevrolet Suburban that was making a left turn onto 23rd Street from a private drive. The driver of the Suburban, Basil E. Broome, 39, Lawrence, was cited for failure to yield. The driver of the Amigo, Jesse T. Lindsey, 29, was cited for driving on a suspended license and a seat belt violation.
