Law enforcement report
¢ A woman was arrested Friday for stabbing a 47-year-old man during a fight in South Park.
Police were called about 12:30 p.m. Friday after witnesses reported seeing a man and a woman fighting near a picnic table north of the park’s recreation center.
They arrested 24-year-old Sasha Hamlet, who lists an address at the Lawrence Community Shelter, 214 W. 10th St., for aggravated battery and disorderly conduct. The man, Victor B. Johnson, was treated for lacerations at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, but he also was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.
Police did not release what caused the fight or the relationship between the two.
Condition updates
¢ Aaron, 30, and Emalee Bell, 3, of Eudora, have been released from the hospital after they were struck by a car while riding a bike Monday evening.
The family faxed a statement to the Journal-World that said the Bells were back at home recovering and focusing on getting their lives back to normal.
Police did not cite the driver of the vehicle, 17-year-old Clara Spring of Eudora, because she told them the sun was in her eyes.
