Law enforcement report
¢ The parents of an 11-year-old Oskaloosa girl reported Tuesday that a 24-year-old Lawrence man inappropriately touched their daughter between June 1 and Aug. 31 at a home in south Lawrence. Police have interviewed the man and sent a report to Dist. Atty. Charles Branson's office for review.
¢ Chester W. Brockman Jr., 34, of Lawrence was booked into jail Wednesday night after being arrested by Lawrence Police on suspicion of possession with intent to sell narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction, and failure to have a drug-tax stamp.
¢ A 27-year-old Lawrence woman told police her boyfriend violated a restraining order by getting into the passenger seat of her van Tuesday. The woman flagged down Officer Anthony Brixius about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of West Sixth Street and told him about the passenger, who then fled on foot and was caught in the 600 block of Missouri Street.
The man, 22-year-old William Donovan Mitchell, had been arrested Aug. 20 for allegedly breaking into an apartment in the 600 block of Michigan Street, threatening the same woman and battering her.
¢ A Lawrence man was involved in an accident caused by road rage Wednesday night on Interstate 70 just east of the Kansas Turnpike's eastern terminal, according to an accident report.
Leon Rucker, 38, of Lawrence, was driving his 2004 GMC truck west at 11:10 p.m. when another vehicle "was involved in road rage" with his truck, according to the report. The other vehicle, a 2002 four-door Chevrolet car, driven by Jason Westmoreland, 18, Liberty, Mo., then swerved to miss Rucker's vehicle and struck a barrier wall and then stuck the trailer of a semitrailer.
Two passengers in Westmoreland's car suffered minor injuries, but they were not transported to the hospital. No one else involved was injured, Kansas Highway Patrol troopers said.
Rucker and Westmoreland were given tickets for the incident, troopers said.
Burglaries and thefts reported
¢ 400 block of Perry Street: A trailer valued at $1,300 was stolen between 6 p.m. Saturday and noon Wednesday.
¢ An accident late Wednesday involving a mo-ped driver in the 800 block of East 14th Street turned out to have been a one-vehicle accident in which the driver lost control and crashed. The driver, Kevin Smith, 30, was cited for drunken driving and driving with a revoked license, Lawrence Police said.
A resident of the area said a man crawled to her door saying he'd been injured in a hit-and-run wreck around 10:30 p.m.
