Children will have the opportunity to learn about fossils during a special program at the city’s Prairie Park Nature Center.

The program Mysteries of Fossils will be from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the nature center, 2730 Harper St. The program is for children 7 to 12 years old, and there is a $5-per-child fee.

The class will discuss how fossils are formed, how to identify fossils and about the fossil history of Kansas. There also will be an outdoor fossil hunt.
