Vehicle accidents send two people to hospital

Two early-morning wrecks in Douglas County on Saturday sent two people to the hospital.

A man was transported by helicopter to Overland Park Regional Hospital after an accident involving two 4-wheelers at 1:05 a.m., said Capt. Nathan Stover, a Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical spokesman. It happened at 300 E. 2300 Road, Palmyra. The driver of the second all-terrain vehicle wasn’t injured.

At 4:32 a.m., a male had to be extricated from a vehicle at 711 W. 23rd Street, Lawrence, after a single-car crash, Stover said. The victim was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
