Misty windshields greeted early risers in Lawrence today.

“We do have a slight chance for a morning shower, but our chances are dropping off,” said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

Lawrence will be mostly cloudy through the afternoon, with the high climbing to 64 degrees, Schack said.

“Most of the rain is off to the south and east of us,” she said.

At 7:15 a.m., Lawrence Municipal Airport’s temperature was 55 degrees, the humidity was 87 percent and winds were out of the southeast at 9 mph.

The average low temperature for this date is 49 degrees. The record low was 28 degrees, set in 2002.

The average high temperature for this date is 70 degrees. The record high was 88 degrees, set in 1950.

Overnight, the low will fall 52 degrees by early Tuesday morning, with some thick clouds, fog and even some drizzle. Tuesday afternoon, it will climb to 74 degrees.

Wednesday’s morning temperature will start at 51 degrees, with the high reaching only 54 degrees and a chance for a midday shower, Schack said.
