Rocker Robinson files for divorce from actress Hudson

Los Angeles – Rocker Chris Robinson filed for divorce from Kate Hudson on Friday, citing irreconcilable differences.

The 39-year-old rocker and 27-year-old actress have been married for nearly six years. They announced their separation in August.

According to the Superior Court filing, Robinson is seeking shared custody of the couple’s son, Ryder Russell Robinson, who will turn 3 in January.

Hudson, daughter of Goldie Hawn, was nominated for a supporting-actress Oscar for her role as rock groupie Penny Lane in 2000’s “Almost Famous.” Other screen credits include “You, Me and Dupree” and “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.”

A call to Hudson representative Brad Cafarelli for comment after business hours Friday was not immediately returned.

Robinson is the lead singer of the Black Crowes, a rock group that released its first CD, “Shake Your Money Maker,” in 1990. The band’s hits include “Hard to Handle” and “She Talks to Angels.”

Stevie Wonder, Usher lead mourners for Gerald Levert

Cleveland – Gerald Levert’s sendoff was tearful – and exuberant.

“When I came here, I expected to mourn,” Usher told thousands of fans who filled most of Public Hall for Friday’s three-hour memorial service for Levert, who died Nov. 10. Instead, he said, “I actually cried tears of joy.”

Stevie Wonder, Levert’s father, Eddie Levert of the O’Jays, and Levert’s music collaborator and brother, Sean Levert, led the audience in a cheering, foot-stomping, hand-clapping combination of memories, music and religious fervor.

“You all really don’t know how big his heart was,” Eddie Levert said.

Celebrities at the service included Usher, rapper-producer Jermaine Dupri, singer Angela Winbush, journalist Ed Gordon and the main eulogist, Judge Greg Mathis.

Mel Gibson tops Web list of ‘least powerful’ people

Los Angeles – Two decades after being chosen as People magazine’s first sexiest man alive, Mel Gibson now tops a very different kind of list: Film Threat’s annual “Frigid 50: The Coldest People in Hollywood.”

The independent film Web site on Friday named Gibson No. 1 among the “least-powerful, least-inspiring, least-intriguing people in all of Tinseltown,” following the anti-Semitic remarks he made during his arrest on suspicion of drunken driving.

Gibson, 50, was People’s sexiest man alive on the inaugural list in 1985.

Smith says son, 8, inspired ‘Happyness’ performance

New York – Will Smith says his 8-year-old son, Jaden, stole scenes in their upcoming father-son drama, “The Pursuit of Happyness.”

“It’s a good thing he’s my kid,” the 38-year-old actor jokingly tells Premiere magazine in its December issue. “‘Cause if he wasn’t, I would have been sabotaging his performance.”

The movie, due in theaters Dec. 15, is based on the rags-to-riches story of Chris Gardner, a struggling dad who finds himself and his 5-year-old son homeless.

“He changed my performance,” Smith says of Jaden. “You know, when you really capture your greatness, there’s going to be something childlike about it. There’s going to be something at play, not at work, and watching him I rediscovered that thing that made me successful with ‘The Fresh Prince (of Bel-Air).'”
