Arrest made in fatal shooting of deputy
Florida ? A massive 17-hour hunt led to the arrest Sunday afternoon of a man suspected of shooting dead one Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy and wounding a second in what Sheriff Ken Jenne called “a heartless, cold-blooded assassination.”
Eloyn Devon Ingraham, 28, of Sunrise, was arrested about 4 p.m. at a Dania Beach motel, accused of killing Deputy Brian Tephford, 34, and wounding Deputy Corey Carbocci during a Saturday night traffic stop. Carbocci, 37, a three-year veteran, is expected to make a full recovery.
Two other men also were taken into custody Sunday. Jenne said the two, whose names were not released, are being looked at as having helped Ingraham elude authorities.
Ingraham was a passenger and a female was driving, authorities said. The woman is not in custody and the Sheriff’s Office did not release any details about her.
