Second plea reached in crack cocaine case

A second defendant has reached a plea deal in a case involving 10 people charged with taking part in a Law-rence crack cocaine distribution ring.

Ryan Lavell “Quick” Green agreed last month in U.S. District Court to plead guilty to conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of crack cocaine. He faces between 10 years and life in prison and is due to be sentenced Jan. 8.

Another defendant, James William Beltch, previously entered a plea in the case and will be sentenced Feb. 12.

Green admitted in the plea that he played a role in the drug ring, including driving a co-defendant to Kansas City to buy crack cocaine and, in February of this year, letting an undercover informant into a home at 514 Locust St. to buy $100 worth of crack cocaine from another defendant.

Also charged in the case this March were Don Marcus Gibler, Aharlock Fixico, Branden Scott Walker, Carl Ray Roubison, Ryan Ezell Fowler, Lonnie Ray Teichmann and John Burke Holt. A 10th defendant, Katheryn Alexander, also known as Katheryn Christian, was added to the case in September.

Teichmann has a “change of plea” hearing scheduled for Dec. 4.
