Small plane crashes beside house, killing 2

? A small plane crashed Friday morning beside a house, killing the two passengers onboard, authorities said.

Killed in the crash were the pilot, Lee Zimmerman, of Roswell, and a passenger, David McAdoo, of Talking Rock, officials said. Their ages were not immediately available.

The crash was so severe that the victims likely were killed instantly, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Capt. Frank Huggins said.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the plane was a two-seat, single-engine, 1971 Cessna 150L.

The plane took off from Mathis Field, about a mile from the crash scene, and was bound for Gainesville, only a few minutes away by air.
