Four Lawrence artists have works in the 37th annual Smoky Hill Art Exhibition in Hays, which runs from through June 2 at the Hays Art Center.

Juror Paul Dorrell, of the Leopold Gallery in Kansas City, Mo., chose paintings by Jane Fortun and Anita Markley, and photographs by Bill Bowerman and Mary Tuven. Bowerman’s work also received a cash award.

Of l89 works submitted this year from across the state,

79 were accepted by the juror.
