The Lawrence Douglas-County Planning Commission will meet twice this week to consider approval of several commercial projects and the new Lawrence and Douglas County Subdivision Regulations.
Commissioners will first meet at 7 p.m. today at City Hall. Items on the agenda include approval of a development plan for Aberdeen on Sixth Street, a 115-unit apartment complex at the southeast corner of West Sixth Street and Stoneridge Drive. Also, commissioners will consider approval of a development plan for Miracon Plaza, a commercial development that will include a car wash, convenience store, office buildings and a restaurant at the northeast corner of Wakarusa Drive and Clinton Parkway.
Commissioners will also meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall to consider adopting the new Lawrence-Douglas County Subdivision Regulations. The regulations are a set of rules about how property can be divided and developed.
Also on Wednesday's agenda are several rezonings and development plans related to a proposed redevelopment of the area near Eighth and Pennsylvania streets.
Commissioners also will ask the public for any comment on projects that should be included in the city's Capital Improvements Plan.
