Lawrence residents awarded fellowships

? The Kansas Arts Commission has awarded fellowships to Lawrence residents for their work in poetry and fiction. The fellowships also are awarded in various disciplines, including 2-D visual art and 3-D visual art.

Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg received a $5,000 award for her poetry, and Jesse Zerger Nathan won one of six Kansas Artist Mini-Fellowships worth $500.

The Kansas Arts Commission accepted applications during fall 2005, and the selections were made in January. State senators and representatives had a reception Wednesday at the Capitol for the winners.
