Kansas Bar leader joins Lawrence firm
David Brown, founder and managing attorney of The Law Offices of David J. Brown LC, has announced the association of Sally Pokorny, president of the Kansas Bar Foundation, with his Lawrence firm at 1040 N.H.
Pokorny has practiced for more than 25 years in Kansas, most recently in Independence where she operated her own firm.
Pokorny practices in the areas of family law, nontraditional family law, criminal law and DUI defense. She also is a part-time Child Support Enforcement attorney for the state.
As a charter member of the Kansas Women Attorney’s Assn., she has served on the board of directors since 1994 and on its Gender Bias Task Force. She also has served as president and legislative liaison for the Kansas Bar Assn.’s Criminal Law Section, chair of the KBA Legal Aid and Referral Committee, and as a member of the KBA Mandatory Malpractice Task Force.
Pokorny is a 1978 graduate of Washburn University Law School.
