New concert festival to debut in Lawrence
The Bleeding Kansas Festival is an independent music and arts festival that will debut Aug. 5 at Lawrence’s Burcham Park, 2nd and Indiana streets. Highlighting the history of Kansas as a free state, the event will incorporate activism and community integrity while featuring more than 40 local and regional artists. Headliners include Death Cab for Cutie, Keane, Broken Social Scene, The Secret Machines, Chromeo, Mates of State, The Black Angels, Hard-Fi, Murder By Death, Boy Kill Boy, Langhorne Slim, Lake Trout and Under the Influences of Giants.
