Man killed in collision with Union Pacific train

An Osage City man died early Thursday after his pickup truck crossed in front of a Union Pacific train.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, the northbound train struck the westbound Ford F-150, driven by Raymon Fleury, 30. Fleury was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.

The crash happened at 3:30 a.m. at a railroad crossing on 229th Street north of Osage City. The train’s conductor, Andrew T. Andrews, 34, was not injured in the crash, according to the report.
