Prairie Moon adds developer for school

July 13, 2006

Prairie Moon School, a developing Waldorf school just north of Lawrence, announces the hiring of Bret Schacht to lead development of its grade school.

Schacht, a native of Lincoln, Neb., became a Waldorf teacher after studying in Nepal, working on an organic farm, teaching English in South Korea and teaching children with special needs. He earned his master's degree in Waldorf education at New England Graduate School.

Prairie Moon operates a mixed-age early-childhood program - for age 3 until kindergarten - at 1853 E. 1600 Road. Schacht is scheduled to begin teaching first and second grades in September.
