Sheriff’s deputies are investigating vandalism that caused $5,000 damage to two canvas domes used by the Kansas Department of Transportation to store salt and sand.

The domes, in the 1400 section of East 1750 Road, were found Thursday with holes cut in the sides, said Lt. Doug Woods, a Douglas County sheriff’s spokesman.

The crime remains under investigation. Anyone with information can call the Crime Stoppers hot line at 843-TIPS.
