Topeka Storytellers and celebrities will help kick off "Kansas Day" activities today at the Capitol.
Gov. Kathleen Sebelius will start the celebration of Kansas' 145th birthday as a state with cake and candles at 10 a.m.
Also joining the party will be Danni Boatwright, a Tonganoxie native, who recently won "Survivor: Guatemala," and Dennis Rogers, a Topeka teacher and Navajo storyteller and dancer.
Historical re-enactors will be stationed throughout the Capitol from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help children explore the art and architecture of the Statehouse.
Today's ceremony will be available via live webcast at http://kanedlive.org/.
