Lawrence Police said Wednesday that in the past 24 hours they handled:

¢ Lawrence Police are investigating a report that a 23-year-old Lawrence man had sex with a 15-year-old girl at a party last month in north Lawrence. The incident was reported to police after relatives of the alleged victim, who is now 16, learned about it.

¢ Lawrence Police cited a 41-year-old woman and 44-year-old man for indecent exposure after a resident reported seeing them having sex in an alleyway Saturday afternoon in the 800 block of New Hampshire Street.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A burglar smashed a car’s window and stole two storage tubs containing $1,500 worth of clothing between 9:30 p.m. Sunday and 6:45 a.m. Monday in the 2400 block of Alabama Street.

¢ Someone broke into a home in the 2300 block of Ranch Way and stole more than $6,000 worth of property, including a computer, a flat-screen TV, watches and DVDs. The theft happened between 6 a.m. Saturday and 4:50 p.m. Monday.

Condition updates

¢ Ashley Hess, 19, Paola, has been treated and released from Miami County Medical Center, a hospital official said. Hess was the driver in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday morning on Kansas Highway 68 near the Franklin-Miami County line.

Injury accident

¢ A Lawrence man was transported to a Kansas City, Kan., hospital Wednesday morning with minor injuries after a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 70.

A 1996 Toyota car encountered an icy spot, lost control and hit a guardrail at 7 a.m. about 12 miles east of Lawrence, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority report.

Passenger David E. Megee, 21, was transported to Providence Medical Center with minor injuries. A hospital official said Wednesday that he was no longer listed as a patient.

Driver Melissa A. Travis, 23, Lawrence, was not injured, and another passenger, Elizabeth A. Kliewer, 22, Lawrence, sustained minor injuries but sought her own treatment, the report said.
