Frontier dining experience planned
The third Meet Me at the Mission: A Frontier Kansas Dining Experience, a Kansas Day celebration and fundraiser, has returned by popular demand.
An elegant seven-course candlelit dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Kaw Mission State Historical Site in Council Grove.
The Friends of Kaw Heritage Inc. and the Kansas State Historical Society are sponsoring the event as a benefit to support the funding of the Voices of the Wind People Pageant’s proposed amphitheater construction. The next pageant is planned for September.
The theme for this year’s dinner will be “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” with several historically famous visitors dropping by throughout the evening to join in the festivities.
Tickets are $75 each, a portion of which is tax deductible, and available at the Kaw Mission. Call (620) 767-5410 or send e-mail to kawmission@kshs.org to reserve tickets.
