Visiting pianist Jay Gottlieb will perform a recital at 7:30 p.m. today at Swarthout Recital Hall.

Gottlieb, originally from New York, is a contemporary pianist who studied at the Juilliard School, Harvard University and in France. Gottlieb has appeared as a soloist with many orchestras and ensembles, including the Boston Symphony, Orchestre de Paris, Percussions de Strasbourg, London Sinfonietta and the Group for Contemporary Music in New York.

Gottlieb will be in residence at KU through Monday, working with music theory and music composition students.
