Injury accident
¢ A Princeton man was injured Saturday morning on U.S. Highway 59 just north of Princeton when his car ran off the road and hit a guardrail, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.
Shane Farmer, 23, was driving south in a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro and trying to pass several vehicles when he drove on the left shoulder to avoid oncoming traffic. He then lost control of his car, according to the accident report.
Farmer, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered disabling injuries and was transported to Ransom Memorial Hospital and later transferred by a Life Net helicopter to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. A condition report was unavailable Saturday.
Condition updates
¢ Shadoe Barton, 18, Lawrence, remains at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., a spokeswoman said on Saturday. Barton was the driver in an accident Thursday on U.S. Highway 24-40 northeast of Lawrence in Leavenworth County.
¢ Sheila Grammer and David Erwin, 21, both of Eudora, remained at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., on Saturday, a hospital spokeswoman said. Grammer and Erwin were working on a vehicle Friday evening in an east Lawrence mobile home park when they were struck by a Jeep, driven by 16-year-old John Berry of Lawrence. Police questioned Berry on Friday night and later released him.
