KU Symphonic Choir, orchestra to perform

The KU Symphony Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lied Center. In this final symphony concert of the season, the KU Symphonic Choir will join the KUSO.

The evening will begin with a performance of Leonard Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” by the KUSO and KU Symphonic Choir. The KUSO will then perform “Carmen Suite No. 1” and selections of “Carmen Suite No. 2” by Georges Bizet. The concert will conclude with a performance of “Symphony No. 5” by Beethoven.

KU professor Paul Laird, an expert on Bernstein, will give a pre-concert lecture at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for the general public and $7 for students and senior citizens, and they can be ordered by calling the Lied Center Ticket Office at 864-ARTS.
