Police: Five deaths at home ruled homicides
Five people, including two children, found shot to death inside a rented home this week were murdered, police said Thursday.
Calls about screams and gunshots early Tuesday prompted police to break into the house in a gated neighborhood of Mesa, a Phoenix suburb.
Authorities did not release information on any potential suspects. Police ruled out murder-suicide based on evidence they examined, including bullets removed from the bodies.
Authorities identified the victims as 32-year-old Tammy Lee Lovell; her 10-year-old son, Jacob Lovell; her 15-year-old daughter, Cassandra Lovell; Steven Duffy, 30; and his 18-year-old brother, Shane Duffy.
Police said Steven Duffy was Tammy Lovell’s boyfriend, and Shane Duffy was dating Cassandra Lovell.
