‘River City’ features cancer survivor

Julie Cowdin joins Journal-World senior editor Bill Snead to talk about her cancer battle in the second installment of Snead’s “My Cancer, My Story” premiering tonight on “River City Weekly.”

Snead met Cowdin and others in the series during the 2005 writing workshop “Your Life is Your Life: Writing for Hope and Healing.”

Sponsored by Lawrence Memorial Hospital, the workshop was designed to assist those in treatment for cancer, those recovering from the disease and their loved ones.

Then Aynsley Anderson, LMH education coordinator, will discuss the hospital’s upcoming Healthy Hearts Fair on “Better Health.”
