To the editor:

I love our public library.

But I miss the days when libraries were places of silence and hushed voices – no cell phones, loud chatter or children’s playground voices. Each of these shatters the calm so necessary for study.

Is it too much to ask that we post a sign reminding one and all to observe basic library etiquette?
