The Lawrence Photo Alliance is a diverse bunch. Some of its members still work with traditional film and silver prints. Others have embraced digital images and printing. Some use pinhole cameras, and others use large-format equipment.
Past president Bill Bowerman takes pictures with a scanner and calls them scanographs. Another member, Brea Black, uses Polaroid images to make photo transfer prints.
They’ve all come together for their annual group show at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H. Their photos, some of which can be seen here, will be on view through Dec. 21, with an opening reception and gallery talk from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.
Last month, the LPA elected new officers: Laura Dalrymple, president; Dan Coburn, vice president; Paul Herpich, secretary; and Gary Taylor, treasurer.
Visitors and new members are always welcome at meetings, which take place at 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the arts center.
