Law enforcement report

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers chased a Topeka man down the Kansas Turnpike past Lecompton after the driver refused to pull over.

Turnpike officials said the man was seen speeding and swerving while heading eastbound, and eventually crashed into a median while being chased by a patrol car. No one was injured in the wreck.

The man was booked into Douglas County Jail on Tuesday night on charges of fleeing law enforcement officers and driving while intoxicated. It was the man’s birthday.

¢ A 20-year-old man was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with injuries early Monday morning after a fight at the Yacht Club, 503 Wis. A 21-year-old Lawrence man and 23-year-old Lawrence man are suspected of causing the injuries. Both were cited by police and ordered to appear in municipal court for battery and disorderly conduct.

Accident

¢ Franklin County officials reported a fatal accident at the intersection of Fourth and Willow streets in Ottawa on Tuesday night. No further details were available late Tuesday.
