Bass, boyfriend split

New York – Lance Bass and his boyfriend, Reichen Lehmkuhl, have called it quits, People magazine reported on its Web site Monday.

Bass’ publicist, Ken Sunshine, didn’t respond to a message from The Associated Press. The AP was trying to locate a representative for Lehmkuhl.

Bass, who was part of the boy band ‘N Sync, revealed earlier this year that he is gay and was in a relationship with Lehmkuhl, a former Air Force captain and winner of season four of CBS’ “Amazing Race.”

The 27-year-old singer told People in July that he didn’t disclose his sexuality earlier because he didn’t want to affect ‘N Sync’s popularity.

“The thing is, I’m not ashamed – that’s the one thing I want to say,” Bass told the magazine. “I don’t think it’s wrong, I’m not devastated going through this. I’m more liberated and happy than I’ve been my whole life.”

Lehmkuhl, 32, has said he admired Bass’ decision to disclose his sexuality. Lehmkuhl has a new book, “Here’s What We’ll Say,” which recounts his time keeping his sexual orientation a secret from Air Force colleagues.

One arraignment delayed

Santa Ana, Calif. – A judge agreed Monday to postpone rapper Snoop Dogg’s arraignment on a felony possession of a deadly weapon charge until January.

The rapper, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus, was charged with the felony count after a security screener at John Wayne Airport noticed a collapsible baton in his luggage on Sept. 27. He remains free on $150,000 bail.

Broadus has said the 21-inch baton, which collapses to 8 inches, was a prop for a video he was filming in New York.

If convicted, Broadus could face up to three years in prison, said Susan Schroeder, a spokeswoman for the district attorney.

Broadus, 35, has had several run-ins with the law in recent months. He was arrested Oct. 26 at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a gun and transportation of marijuana. He posted $35,000 bail and will appear in court Dec. 12.

He was arrested Nov. 28 outside NBC Studios in Burbank on suspicion of illegal possession of a firearm, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana for sale and possession of a false compartment in a vehicle when Burbank police served a search warrant, stemming from the earlier arrest at Bob Hope Airport. Broadus posted $60,000 bail in that case and has a court hearing Jan. 11.

Beloved pet pig dies

Los Angeles – George Clooney’s beloved potbelly pig, Max, has died, Clooney’s publicist said. He was 19.

Max, who lived at Clooney’s Hollywood Hills home, died “peacefully” of natural causes Friday, Clooney’s publicist, Stan Rosenfield, said Monday.

“Max, like any pet, became a member of the family,” Rosenfield said. “He was a big pig, as pigs go. I can’t tell you how much he weighed.”

The Oscar-winning actor, 45, who owned the hog for 18 years and reportedly once said the porker was his longest relationship, told USA Today, “I was really surprised, because he’s been a big part of my life.”

Another Clooney pet – his bulldog Bud – died earlier this year, Rosenfield said.
