Law enforcement report

¢ Police are investigating a report that a 47-year-old Lawrence man may have had a collection of child pornography. No details were available about the case Friday, other than it was reported to police Wednesday after the discovery of “pictures of children in stages of undress” that date back to the beginning of 1995.

¢ Lawrence Police responded about 4 a.m. Friday to a report that a 25-year-old Lawrence man had been hit in the head with a bottle by an unknown person in the parking lot at Gazebo Apartments, 2434 W. 24th St.

¢ Lawrence Police arrested 54-year-old Fedro Dillon III on suspicion of hitting another man with a metal folding chair Wednesday morning outside the Lawrence Community Shelter, 214 W. 10th St.

¢ Lawrence Police and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical workers responded Friday night to a call of a person not breathing in the 1400 block of East 21st Terrace. As of 11 p.m., a crime-scene investigation unit had not been called to the scene, a dispatcher said.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A laptop computer valued at $1,500 was stolen between July 18 and July 25 from a conference room at the Lawrence school district offices, 110 McDonald Drive.

Injury accidents

¢ Two people were injured Thursday evening in an accident about four miles west of Perry, according to a report with the Kansas Highway Patrol. A car driven by Fidel Villanueva, 23, Topeka, was headed east on U.S. Highway 24 and moved left of the center line.

It struck the trailer of a 2003 GMC truck and then hit a Mazda car head-on.

Villanueva was flown to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka with disabling injuries. The driver of the Mazda car, Linda Schwertfeger, 53, Belvue, was also taken to Stormont-Vail with disabling injuries. The driver and passenger of the GMC truck were not injured, according to the accident report.
