Local photographer Scott Indermaur attempted to "peel back the layers of traditional spirituality" with his new photo exhibit, "Revealed." The art show, which opens today at the Lawrence Unity Church, 900 Madeline Lane, features three components. Indermaur first asked each of his subjects to write an essay on their own spiritual journey. Then, they had to fill a small box with personal objects that are important to that journey. Finally, Indermaur shot an intimate portrait of each participant and composed the three elements together in "Revealed." The result is an intimate look into each individual's hopes, fears and concept of identity. The exhibit can be viewed until Sept. 16 at the Unity Gallery. Indermaur will formally present the exhibit at 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Lawrence Unity Church.
