Double Reed Festival coming to KU

The fourth annual Double Reed Festival will be Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at Kansas University.

The festival offers performances and master classes dedicated to the oboe and bassoon. Guest musicians will be Nancy Ambrose King, oboe professor from the University of Michigan, and Jeff Keesecker, bassoon professor at Florida State University.

Performances include the Double Reed Ensemble at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Lied Center lobby, followed by the KU Wind Ensemble performance.

The festival is free for Midwest Double Reed Society members, $25 for nonmembers and $15 for nonmember students. Registration for master classes and reed-making session is required.
