Cello quartet to perform

CelloRondo, an international quartet of professional cellists, will present a master class at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Swarthout Recital Hall and will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the same location.

CelloRondo is based in the Kansas City area and includes members Lawrence Figg, Martin Storey, Allen Probus and Krassi Figg. The program will feature works by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, Johann Sebastian Bach, Tomaso Albinoni, Duke Ellington and more. The quartet also will perform Argentinean tangos.

Kansas University professor of violincello Edward Laut also will perform the world premiere of his cello quintet arrangement of Johnannes Brahms’ “Andante” from Piano Concerto No. 2.
