Day of the Dead events continue
A Day of the Dead celebration kicked off Tuesday with a ceremony at Watkins Community Museum of History.
A month-long celebration has been planned by Kansas University’s Center of Latin American Studies, Lawrence Public Library and the Watkins Museum.
The library has an exhibit featuring a Day of the Dead altar and decorations. The Watkins Museum also has an exhibit and tours can be scheduled by calling 841-4109. KU’s Center of Latin American Studies will host a Day of the Dead teacher workshop from 10 a.m. – noon, Oct. 29 at the Watkins Museum.
