Guild panel to feature international artists

The Lawrence Art Guild’s Monday meeting will feature Canadian and Lawrence artists as part of the “Convergence” show in Lawrence. Canadians Yvonne Wiegers and Roberta Huebener will combine their ideas in a panel format.

Guild business will start at 6:30 p.m., and the panel will start at 7 p.m. Guild meetings take place at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt.

Wiegers is dean of White Mountain Academy of the Arts, an Ontario, Canada, collaboration of the city of Elliot Lake, the North Shore Tribal Council and the Serpent River First Nation. She works in three-dimensional art, exploring identity as it relates to psychology, genetics and feminism. Her artistic practice has led to many cross-cultural experiences. Roberta has retired from 30 years teaching high school visual arts. She has a bachelor’s degree in art education. Her media and processes include watercolor, acrylics, gold leaf, cast paper and letterpress. Lawrence Art Guild Member Laurie Culling will serve on the panel as well.
