Development plan due to be discussed

Douglas County commissioners will discuss proposed revisions to the rural development regulations on Monday.

In June, the county commissioners directed the Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Department staff to work on revisions of the rural regulations to deal with specific issues – such as the 5-acre exemption rule, arterial and frontage road design, clustering residential development and the availability of treated water.

No vote will be taken at Monday’s meeting regarding the rural development regulations.

Commissioners also will receive an update on the Help America Vote Act from County Clerk Jamie Shew.

The commissioners will meet at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the Douglas County Courthouse, 1100 Mass.
