The Visiting Critic & Curator Program at the H&R Block Artspace at the Kansas City Art Institute invites submissions from K.C.-area artists. The program is designed to engage artists in a dialogue with nationally known curators and critics.
Materials must be received by mail by 5 p.m. Oct. 14 or delivered in person between noon and 5 p.m. Oct. 13-14 to the institute, 16 E. 43rd St., Kansas City, MO 64111.
Artists should include a slide sheet with 10-20 slides labeled with name, orientation, title, size and media; compact discs will be accepted, but slides are preferred. A resume and self-addressed stamped envelope should be included as well.
Artists will be notified by Nov. 9 if the visiting curator, James Elaine, of Hammer Projects at the UCLA Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, will visit their studio.
