Delve into the intuitive ‘Mind’ of Tori Spelling
Remember when private eyes lived by their wits? When detectives used weapons like logic, observation, psychology and deduction? Nowadays, investigators require some notable quirk, a disease (“Monk”) or psychic affliction (“Medium”) to get their work done.
This trend continues with the 2005 made-for-TV mystery movie “Mind Over Murder” (8 p.m., Lifetime). Tori Spelling stars as a Holly Winters. A hotshot prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, she’s certainly no slouch in the crime-fighting department. But after a head injury, she wakes up with something extra: the ability to “hear” other people’s thoughts. This gives her a real edge when trying to build cases against bad guys. But when she gets close to unraveling a dark conspiracy, she becomes the target of a politically connected hit man. Dean McDermott (“Missing”) co-stars.
Spelling returns to prime time on a more regular basis sometime in 2006. The pug-loving former “Beverly Hills 90210” star will have her own single-camera comedy series, “Notorious,” based loosely on her life. It will air on VH1.
