Lawrence police officers were called to the Haskell campus early Thursday morning, after a student armed with several knives was threatening to kill other students inside a campus dormitory.
Officers found the man inside Blaylock Hall, just before 6 a.m. Witnesses said the man's hands were dripping with blood, as he threatened to kill both an 18-year-old Haskell student and a 31-year-old Haskell student, who both lived in the dorm.
A police spokesman said the suspect appeared to be mentally unstable and under the influence of alcohol.
Officers seized three knives from the suspect. The 20-year-old student from Arizona was booked into the Douglas County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault.
