Poet’s Showcase

Gold
By Beverly Boyd

Suddenly rich
in forsythia
in my drab back yard,
I own the world’s wealth.

Outside my windows
fabulous gold
more yellow than bullion
gleams in the sun.

I have a million and more
today and next year
when forsythia blooms
in a glory of gold.
