Injury accident

• Two people were injured about 5 a.m. Sunday when a 2003 Kia Rio left a Franklin County highway, slid into a ditch and struck a rock cliff on its passenger side, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report. The accident occurred on Kansas Highway 68 at the Utah Road intersection.

The driver of the vehicle, George Hawkins, 36, Olathe, was ejected. He was taken to University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. A passenger, Stanley Forrest Spears, 33, West Valley, Utah, was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. No information was available Sunday night about their conditions.
