Goulet to join ‘La Cage’
New York — The furs apparently have been flying at the Broadway revival of “La Cage aux Folles.” Daniel Davis, who plays the role of Georges in the Jerry Herman musical, has abruptly left the show and will be replaced by Robert Goulet.
“Davis’ final performance was the Sunday matinee,” spokesman Michael Hartman said Monday.
On the record, no one was saying what happened, but there have been reports online and in gossip columns of friction between Davis and other members of the production, which also stars Gary Beach as Albin, Georges’ lover.
Pryor confessions
Philadelphia — Richard Pryor’s daughter is offering a peek at what it was like to grow up with her father.
In her show “Fried Chicken & Latkes,” Rain Pryor discusses seeing cocaine, prostitutes and affluence while visiting her dad. She narrates, acts out the parts of other people and sings a few songs.
Pryor is the child of a brief marriage between the comedian and a Jewish woman, Shelley Bonus, who was working as a go-go dancer when she met Pryor in the late 1960s.
Her mother struggled to give her daughter a traditional middle-class upbringing in a modest Beverly Hills, Calif., apartment. But when Pryor visited her well-off father, she said she was exposed to a dysfunctional lifestyle in a servant-staffed house.

Dion was involved in every aspect of the development of Belong, by Coty, which has a modern floral Oriental scent, including the design of the bottle, a pentagon shape that represents her lucky number five.
“This fragrance is about celebrating life,” Dion said. “It’s about a woman’s inner beauty, her confidence, her passion and her sensuality. It’s the way I like to feel about myself.”
