School finance countdown

20 days: The state Supreme Court has given lawmakers until April 12 to produce a constitutional school finance plan.

Wednesday’s highlights

Two school-related committees continue to meet. One is a House-Senate conference committee working on differences between the chambers’ school finance plans. The Senate has approved a $147 million increase to schools, while the House plan has a $116 million increase. The other committee of senators is trying to come up with revenue increases for schools to cover the next three years.
