School finance countdown

21 days. The state Supreme Court has given lawmakers until April 12 to produce a constitutional school finance plan.

Tuesday’s highlights

The House gave preliminary approval to a bill that would require the Kansas Wildlife and Parks Department to get legislative approval before taking on land to develop new parks.

  • The Senate sent to Gov. Kathleen Sebelius legislation that would make it easier for employers to get into trial evidence showing an injured worker had used drugs or alcohol prior to a workplace accident.
