Lawrence Police said Wednesday that in the past 24 hours they’d handled:

  • 243 calls
  • 25 reports
  • two burglaries
  • five thefts
  • six noninjury accidents
  • one injury accident
  • A 17-year-old male was arrested Tuesday in connection with a shooting that happened on Dec. 29, 2004, in the parking lot of Holcom Park, 27th Street and Lawrence Avenue. The boy was booked into the Douglas County Jail for aggravated battery and felony possession of a fire arm.

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A 21-year-old woman reported a burglary and theft Tuesday morning in the 3100 block of West 22nd Street. About $2,255 worth of items were stolen, including a computer and digital camera.
