Lawrence Police said Tuesday that in the past 24 hours they’d handled:

  • 247 calls
  • 26 reports
  • two burglaries
  • two thefts
  • three noninjury accidents
  • one injury accident
  • A 28-year-old Lawrence man was struck by another 28-year-old man about 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Indian Avenue. Lawrence Police Sgt. Dan Ward said it was a “mutual fight.” He said the man who was hit had a cut to his lip that appeared to need stitches and was transported to a local emergency room.

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A 37-year-old Lawrence man reported Saturday that his credit card number was being used for cash withdrawals and that he had lost about $1,638. Lawrence Police Sgt. Dan Ward said the withdrawals didn’t appear to be happening in the United States, but the exact location was unknown.
