  • 266 calls
  • 30 reports
  • two burglaries
  • five thefts
  • three noninjury accidents

Accidents

  • An 84-year-old woman was injured Monday afternoon when the 2000 Mercury she was driving overturned into a ditch near the intersection of Kansas Highways 4 and 16 just north of Valley Falls.

The victim, identified by the Kansas Highway Patrol as Ruth E. Gladstone, Worth, Mo., was taken by LifeNet air ambulance to University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan. Hospital officials said they couldn’t confirm or deny she was a patient there.

Gladstone was driving east on K-4 when the car left the roadway on the east shoulder. She overcorrected, causing the car to go out of control, police said.

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A 37-year-old Lawrence woman reported her $2,500 Ford F-150 pickup truck stolen between 5 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday from the 600 block of Monterey Way.
