Lawrence temperatures warming into the 50s

Lawrence is on its way to a pretty good warm-up today, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

“We see our temperatures head up today into the mid 50s,” Schack said. “Temperatures today will be kind of nice out there. And it gets even better for the weekend.”

At 12:34 p.m., it was 55 degrees, with a southwest 12-mph wind, under partly cloudy skies.

“We do have plenty of sunshine in the forecast today,” Schack said. Today’s high will reach 56.

Overnight, temperatures will fall to a low of 29 by early Thursday morning. Thursday’s high will climb to 57, with partly cloudy skies.

Friday’s low will start out at 31 degrees, climbing to a high of 61 by late Friday afternoon, under partly cloudy skies.
