KU issues scholarships to fine arts students

The Kansas University department of art awarded roughly $160,000 in scholarships and awards to fine arts students at its annual spring exhibition and gallery. The winners were judged by a committee of faculty members.

Six Lawrence natives were among the award recipients: Meghan Jean Bahn, Daniel MacMorris Scholarship; Rachael Marie Huffman, Daniel MacMorris Scholarship and Norma B. Burrows Memorial Scholarship; Wade Aaron Kelly, Lillian French Clark Scholarship; Michael McCaffrey, Hollander Family Foundation Award; Emily Hanako Momohara, Thomas A. Klaverkamp Memorial Scholarship; and Bernadette Zacharias, Nelson Scholarship Award in the Arts.

Recipients from Lecompton were Simon Carter Gentry, Clyde Bonebrake Lockwood and Ward Lockwood Art Scholarship; and Matthew Eric Lewis, Clyde Bonebrake Lockwood and Ward Lockwood Art Scholarship.
